Where do I find your mod?

It's really easy once you get the hang of it.
What I am doing now is giving everyone back the base accuracy of the MP Demo 1.0 rets and other gun attributes.
The game is to "run-and-gun" for a lot of us and I figured out why:
If you look at the actual numbers that UBI changed in the retail from Demo, they favor more accuracy while moving.
The only thing that needs to be tested is if the modified .u files will work over the net. I know the server will work, obviously, so I am assuming all you have to do distribute the modded .files that people need to play the way the server does and everything will be okay, right?

Wow, that's the best news i've heard all day. i always prefered the 1.0 demo stats, far far more realistic gameplay in my opinon. (but that's all old water under the bridge now). So the obvious question is, when, and where can i get your Ravenshield MP1.0 gameplay mod?
yipppy.

I've got to redo all the MP Demo 1.0 weapons (using the actual MP Demo 1.0 as a template) and then also tweak the M4 as that is by far the "worst" weapon in the entire RvS arsenal the way UBISoft modeled it.
I've just to make sure I get ALL the engine.actors that I need to like not just the R6Weapons.u, but also the R61stPerson.u, R6Abstractweapon.u, etc.
They all have multiple feilds that need to match to make the adjustments work and if you miss one, then it doesn't work I guess

you might want to consider making a non-modified version of the M4 for the general public. Otherwise the mod will be tainted with rumors that the M4 was "uber'd" because the author had a fetish for it, ya know?
I agree that that M4 is kinda lack luster though, but i wouldn't go so far as to say it's the worst weapon though. I'd chalk that up to the chinese bulpup thing. I use the M4 alot and it's really just a matter of training yourself to use it. For me that means sticking to single fire. (which i generally do with all Assault Rifles anyhow)

Okay, guys here you go:
This is a BETA mod that I compiled using the Unreal Editor where I tweaked just the MP5A4 and the M4. All the other weapons are unchanged.
http://www.geocities.com/j_dawson_1999/r6_demo1_mod.zip
Right Click and "Save As" if if you get page not found/404 error.
How to install this Mod:
1) BACK UP your Raven Shield folder (C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Raven Shield).
2) Simply unzip all the .u files into your Raven Shield\System directory.
3) Start up a MP Server (non-dedicated) or even go into Terrorist Hunt on any map and select either the MP5A4D or M4 and you should notice it is much closer to the MP Demo 1.0 in terms of accuracy when not moving and inaccuracy when running... Especially the M4.
4) If you want to try this on LAN, just make sure that the client PCs also have the new .u files that match the server or you will get a version mismatch error -- Also, just let me know if this in fact works because others want to know as well.
This was made with version 1.3, but should be compatible with 1.2 as well (hopefully).
I tried to tweak the values of the weapons to penalize the shooting while on the run for both weapons, while allowing fast walking to be semi-accurate to simulate a tactical jog.
I realize the M4 may be too accurate or powerful now so just let me know and I can tweak it closer to the original to give it a more distinct and realistic feel.
There is no way to alter the reticle positions without the SDK at this moment, but I figure penalizing people for run and gun would be a good place to at least start.
I plan on doing ballistics next which means adding more realistic stopping power to some of the rounds as well as giving silenced weapons -- namely pistols -- More stopping power as well.
I also plan on beefing up the AI of the R6 Team mates, making it so hostages can't get killed -- You can actually "give" them Heavy Armor via the editor -- And other things, but I just want to see if I am heading in the general direction or if I should hang up my modding hat entirely

Does it work in single player custom mission? Is it really nessecary to back up the whole game? Why can't you just back up the Raven Shield system directory?
-
Swat:
I suppose one could just back up the system directory... But if there are custom sounds and textures then you need either an installer/uninstaller (on/off) switch for the Mod or you need to back up your entire installation.
Besides, this is an old beta version of the newer Mod if yo haven't been keeping track:
