This has happened to me to. I've had to reboot my system and lose my progress.

Have you tried copying the saves at work to the home computer? They're not actually pulled down from the servers when synchronizing - that appears to merely validate them against hash-tags stored on the servers. If you don't copy the locally stored saves - then all you'll get is a failure to synchronize since obviously the saves it sees will not match the validation data on the servers. This is probably because the process "synchronizing" is a bit of a misnomer compared to how the term is normally used.

Then the syncrhonization is working for you. They are stored locally as well and only supposed to be pulled down in case of hash failure. That is not happening for this person though so I suggested they copy the locally stored online-mode saves.
Good to know that it is working for you, but I do not see how that is helpful in this person's case.
To the OP - you may try reinstalling the UbiSoft launcher on the computer that is failing to synchronize. If that is the problem it would be more ideal to get the launcher and synchronization to work as it appears to be intended to. Launcher crashing after the game loads can also cause the synchronization failure.

Thank you for your advise, I will give it a whirl after I discover how to grab the online-mode saves (local saves). Assuming there is a directory similar to the ones said above for vista etc.
Otherwise will try the ubisoft launcher... although would hate for it to overwrite my new saves at work as I have re-done alot
cheers again everyone for taking a peek at this error of mine

Save synch doesn't fail for me but it takes like 5 minutes each time I quit the game. Do some of you experience this too ?

This step involves transmitting any updated/new/changed savegames as well as reconciling profile/dynasty changes. The locally stored versions of the "online-mode" saves appear to cover roughly the same range of sizes as the "offline-mode" saves do. Some saves can be as little as 250k or upwards of several megs.
If you have very low upstream bandwidth on your internet connection (lowest-end DSL and Charter
cable broadband can have max upstream bandwidths as low as 128 kbps). If for some reason you weren't getting your max upstream bandwidth you could be getting even less than that. Things that could cause this would include but not be limitted to using other internet applications in the background such as bittorrent, other users on a shared internet connection using the bandwidth for other applications, or prime-time congestion in a high density cable service area (if using cable broadband.) In any of those cases or any combination of them it is not unimagineable that it would take several minutes to sync upon exiting.
Additionally congestion at UbiSoft's end could slow the transfer. If you are using the game during prime time in your region I would bet you would be more likely to experience this sort of slowdown.
To rule out something at your end - run a bandwidth speed test the next time you notice this and see what your upstream bandwidth reads as. If it reads as over 1 mbit you can be relatively certain that your internet connection is not the most likely culprit. I do not beleive you are the only person with this problem though as several people have posted complaining about it and it has been noted in a few of the reviews to come out so far.
UbiSoft could offer a rather easy fix for users experiencing this who do not need to their savegames to be portable. The system is already capable of checking to see if full synchronization is needed - by comparing file hash values of the local and server side copies of the online-mode saves. If a user were to be able to opt out of storing full copies of the saves on the server the system could simply store basic data and hash values and still protect against abuse.
This would require less than a second to validate on exiting since the information sent would be bytes at most but the downside would be that you wouldn't be able to pull up online-mode saves on any computer you wanted. If you only ever play on one though, this could be a preferable option for people experiencing long sync times and would also reduce the load on their servers.

I have been having problems synchronizing my games since last 5 days. The first couple of days the Synch worked fine but now it fails everytime. Is there something I can do to fix this problem? Im running XP.

I have to ask... is there a benefit to sync your save games in the first place if you're only playing from 1 computer?
I turned off savegame syncing the very 1st day when it took more than 10secs to sync.
For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, click on Settings on the top right of the launcher and you can turn off save game syncing.

I would like to continue to play online. I enjoy the rewards section and the online play. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem. I don't mind waiting a few mins before and after the game if the Synchronization works but it doesn't and fails everytime on my computer.
