Firstly, before I go into complain mode and complaints aside, this game is very impressive in all aspects. I can't wait to be able to use it properly.
When I first installed BA, I had constant roll-left when trying to use my joystick. Everything else worked ok, except for hard roll-left. Found the forum - installed the Patch 1.0.1, and now I can't get any response from my joystick at all.
I'm finding it difficult to understand what's going wrong here - surely if Windows XP can configure my joysticks (I have three - all diff makes), why can't a game map my joystick too? Maybe a dedicated joystick calibration section should have been implemented with this game? Such as: Move your stick fully left and click OK. (OK) Move your stick fully right and click OK (OK) Move your stick fully forward . . . etc etc. Also, a joystick test environment would be very handy - a simple plane model with reactive flaps, rudders, guns etc to test your joystick configs out on before flying. Nothing more annoying than thinking you've set everything ok, only to find out more adjustments are needed while playing. Forwards, backwards, forwards to test in play etc.
I have 7 flight sims, and while I recognise that BA isn't a Flight Sim as such, this is the only flight game that won't accept my sticks. All are analogue by the way.
I would have been quite happy to put up with flying with my mouse, but it has been annoyingly set to Auto-Center, meaning that if I want to roll and bank-turn 180 degrees, I have to keep swiping the mouse across the desk, otherwise my plane auto-rights itself. GRRRR!!! There may be a way of turning mouse auto center off, but I've yet to find it.
I get the feeling that this game was released too soon with inadequate testing. We first users are the testing team, it seems.
