Problems in running campaigns in H3complete | Forums

Hi!

I decided to once again play the camapigns of Heroes 3.
But suprisingly, i cannot complete more than one campaign at one time.
I just started with the Restoration of Erathia and finished "Long live the Queen" and "Dungeons and Devils" but the program just shows the last campaign played as being complete.
What can I do to go on since I have to complete all three campaigns to play the upcoming ones.

Unfortunately, the system for playing the original campaigns is stupid. You have to play one campaign, and when you have finished it(and you get jumped to the camp screen and see the campaign getting a symbol on it or something), you must continue right on to the next campaign without closing the game or even exiting to the main menu between.
Once you've started the next campaign, you can make a save game and continue from there. If you start a new campaign, not from a save game, no original campaigns will ever be seen as finished by the game.

The campaigns in the expansions do not follow this stupid system, you can do several at a time if you like, and when they are done, they are done.

PS: I've had the same troubles myself, I usually feel like I need some rest after a full campaign, so I didn't start a new one but just closed the game. If you want to restore some of your efforts, try loading a game close to the completion of the more difficult campaign(usually dungeons and dragons) and go from there. You will have to replay one of the campaigns though(unless I'm wrong).

Umm, are you sure? I certainly remember that I've always been able to quit playing right after finishing a campaign and proceed later. The last save just loads the screen of all campaigns.

Hmmm... you're probably right. Didn't remember that there was any convenient last save that loaded the campaign screen.
My memory is fuzzy and stuff(must have been at least 7 years since I ran into this problem myself). Sorry
What I was trying to say is that you have to continue from a save game if you actually want to make any progress.
If you just start a new campaign when you want to start a new campaign you won't be able to unlock anything... and you'll probably have to replay one of the campaigns that you already have gone through, as the other one will be "unplayed" in the save game where you completed one of them.

Not sure if that made any more sense... it is a needlessly complicated system anyway.
