The game was put on hold in 2010... The story you responded to was from 2009. Don't believe it til you see it.

Just spoke to a friend who got recently hired at Ubisoft. He said the likelihood of an EndWar 2 is like less than 1% chance. With only 1.5 some odd million copies since 2008 sold, Ubisoft ain't gonna make another EndWar.
Sorry guys, it just didn't sell that well.

The only reason endwar didn't sell extremely well is the lack of advertising, and a few design choices they made that they should have known was going to cause issues in the first place.
All they need to do is throw some new maps, tweak a few things about unit killing. Tweak the factions and change theatre of war to promote finding matches faster.
Without a huge player base having 3 factions is too much even let alone adding more UNLESS theater of war is changed such that you don't have a few russions sitting on a map waiting for jsf, and a few jsf waiting on euro map. If the map told you how many players were around and waiting on maps that would be heck of a useful thing.
unit killing simply needs to be tweaked so that you can't air strike down units or emp nuke. If a unit is going to get unit killed it should have to get killed by the player which can be countered. may need some other tweaks. Basically there are consequences in this game to losing unlike most games and that is a tough pill and leads to bad things when ever you have anonamous people playing against one another. That brings out the worst in people and chases off new players.
balance between factions a bit. JSF is a bit over powering because range is SO important in this game (along with seeing the units). Blos needs tweaking. I'd say give blos to Euro and tone down it's range a bit.

But hey if it is true tell your friend to tell the CEO of Ubisoft that Endwar was the last the Ubisoft game I brought. (And ever will buy)
Also tell them that if they want sales they should learn how to make a game that works next time.
The fact that ubisoft is silent and nobody cares about us is what disturbs me.
Come on ubisoft at least speak to us. Is that too much ?

Wow I venture back over here and there's still nothing on this. Guarantee you, there's no sequel coming. They should at least have the decency to tell you there's going to be though.
