There's already a very healthy modding scene.

Those screenshots i posted at the start of the thread were before i modded with high res textures.

If you have a 64bit decent computer makes it look really nice,

I'm using the 4gig patcher (have to if using the high res textures),

although this should be redundant after the next patch, as 4 gig address's will be part of it, and these,

Gawd, I've had an old git moment thanks to those lasst screenies. There was a time when me saying to myself 'I'm having some of that' would certainly not involve a video game.

Well here's a few more to wet the appetite.

You may well note a change in weather, the bonus of being quite away in and having the clear skies dragon shout.

    If only!

You absolute bounder! I've got Huns to flame!

Now let's see if I've got this straight. 1st or 3rd person, Skyrim's a bit sand-boxy, with no cut-scenes that take forever and as many or few objectives as you like, right? Customisable characters from the outset? No ludicrous rumpo scenes where scantilly clad damsels (or dudes if that floats your boat) put on more clothes than they were wearing in the first place to have their wicked way with your character? No characters come out with the C-word? (It's f-ing needless, devs - get your sh- together) Oh - and can I remove those silly-looking cat people dudes I've seen in trailers? They'd be a definate obstacle to my suspension of disbelief - plus an ex of mine had a disturbing and unhealthy obsession with 'Thundercats' (in her late twenties) that I have sinced manfully suppressed from my memory...well until those trailers, that was.

I've never dabbled in any of the previous incarnations. I love Witcher 1 & 2, plus Dragon Age (although DA 2 seemed a bit pants compared to the original, especially in the environments to romp around in department), and it ain't no Witcher (which I'll conceed might be a bit Marmitey - you either buy into it or you don't), but just like people I love very much, they have got some annoying traits - some of which were originally quite endearing. You know, like 'But you love my shepherd's pie...' 'Yes, but not for every meal, luv...' So I'm looking at Skyrim for a chance to arse around in lovely environments on virtually non-linear and potentially unending quests, with a character that will develop. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Or just barking?

if you like open worlds, youll like it even more than the witcher series

theres magic combined with your normal sword/axe hacking

theres alchemy as well as enchanting of objects.

but its a console game thats been ported to the PC. so if i were you i would wait untill feburary to get into the mod communitys releases - which by then should be bringing out some proper sorting of the game

Hey! Enought with the racism already! It's enough that I have to listen every nord in Skyrim calling me "cat" instead of Khajiit and everyone I fight telling me that I'll "make a fine rug"

Thankfully my feelings don't stay hurt for long after I scissor-decapitate them with two daggers.

Talking about suspension of disbelief, I take it you haven't seen argonians yet
