At long last I got TMO to run!(well really my wife did dont know what I was doing wrong oe of those have someone else try it problems I suppose) Anyway TMO is amazing! TMO turns the stock into what it should have been all along. If you own Silent Hunter 4 but dont have TMO get it right now this very second dont even read the rest of this post. TMO man this thing is so good. The thing that i really love is the diesels running and how the guys voice out the commands and the christmas tree lights up and the operator does something! Ok enough of my rambeling! P.S. I cant wait to take my first kills on zig-zagging convoy like it really was(convoys always zig-zagging I mean) Also I love the lack of the next/previous cam I admit I used to use this to "cheat" sometimes and see what was coming from long range.
Buddy Holly well guess that makes you the Grand Naval Expert hands down!!!!!

Happy to hear that you got TMO up and running, Balao. Ducimus has done a fantastic job and and he makes the game come alive.

Yes words cant really describe how much better TMO makes the game it is like night and day all the little ambient things that he added make me get much more into the game. Not to mention the massive improvements to the gameplay.

Just a plug for RFB as well. There's a lot of Ducimus in RFB and the RFB team has progressed rapidly in the last couple of months. 2009 should be the year of RFB, but Ducimus can take that away with just one demented, evil, brilliant idea like his evil airplanes.

The problem with Ducimus is that he shares everything with the RFB people! So we have two top mods for SH4. We all win! And don't forget Fall of the Rising Sun. Those Aces of the Deep people are just relentless. It's a great time to be playing SH4.

Did I forget Run Silent Run Deep? That's downright unhealthy with all the work Lurker has gone through to make an authentic campaign layer. RFB or TMO without RSRD is only half a mod!

I'm so glad. I could tell you loved the game, but knew you were missing out.

I would add the hud mod..very nice add on. I also use the crew quarter mod..Get you some radio stations loaded up...you'll love it.

Glad you joined the club and decided to further your addiction to SH 4 Baolo lol.The great thing about TMO is its always a challenge, no matter how many times you play it and no one convoy or engagement is the same. The variety of escorts are nice to...not just DD's, have subchasers, aux subchasers, coastal defense type vessels etc. Early war is easier, 1944 to the end is tough because enemy sonar and radar improves me.Can't wait until next TMo is out, Ducimus is including a Radar Warning system for fleet boats, so can tell when escorts have radar or not.

Good luck and enjoy.

I didnt care for RFB much, guess used to the vicious escorts in TMO lol.

Ilike the historical aspect of RSRD, only problem is convoys are few and far between even in the "heavy years".If I had more time to play I would but got tired of five patrols of nothing but single merchants and planes.took the thrill out for me.

Yeah I got my first kill second kill and death by depth chagre last night in the Torsk in 45'. I did so well attacking the first convoy it had 2 DEs with that they never figured out where was somehow. The second convoy a sharp DD heard me even tough I was silent but I was at p-depth I was thinking get to a layer and let him pass but I was to cocky. After the minutes evding 3 DDs and taking minor fuel tank damage I saw on sonar that the mercs where very close dead ahead of me. I took the risk of going to P-depth and fired 4 mk.18s for 4 hits on a medium split. then dove as soon as the last fish was out all the way 430 ft they still got me! First time I have EVER been killed by a DD in SH4. This was all in the area of Convoy College for you TMO players. And I also saw the Flying Dutchman as well guess Davy liked me when we sailed past each other I dont like him that much I'll give him some sailors just not mine.
