Because they can make more fast cash from console gamers. After all, once the game is bought, they win. If it doesn't work and the gamer takes it back, exchanges it for something that DOES they STILL got the money, so they still win.

And because they couldn't care less about their customers and fans.

Ubisoft has set the standard for the absolute bottom level of ability in customer support, service and feedback.
