Ok now I love RUSE, it's a great game but right now it's driving me crazy

I got RUSE back in Decemeber and played it until mid January.

Then my laptop broke, it was smashed while I was playing RUSE.

The one month ago a bought a new laptop, an HP g6 pavillion, and reinstalled RUSE.

But when I launch it as soon as the RUSE logo comes up a box pops up saying "Game did not terminate properly. Do you want ot load the last known good configuration".

The I click "no" (yes does the same thing)and the following popup occurs:

    Crash!
    Version Final
    ACCESS VIOLATION (Reading0x000000)
    ####
    ####
    ####
    ####
    ####
Core dumped in ****/***/****/**/*****/*** for post-mortem anylasis.
The call stack was copied to the clipboard.
Press OK to report the dump by mail, press CANCEL to exit.

What are your full PC specs ?

For the above Error, If you are having Windows 7 or Vista OS, then first try playing the game under 'Windows XP SP2 Compatibility Mode', and see if this helps you or not ? Make a Shortcut of the Game's executable file i.e RUSE.exe, and then run it under Compatibility mode.....

If using Windows 7 OS, then you can also try the 'Windows VISTA SP2 compatibility' Mode.

Ok, but which VIDEO CARD do you have ? You didn't list the GPU model number and Name. Btw, did you try the above 'VISTA SP2 compatibility' Mode' method for playing this game ? Does it work for you ?

Are you doing it in a proper way, by clicking on the shortcut of RUSE.exe ? Do you get any Error message or what, when you run and play it under Compatibility mode ?

I've given an example on how to run and play RUSE under 'Vista Compatibility Mode', under this topic. You can go through it, if you wish:

Btw, you can quickly check which Graphics Processor you have, from your system DXDIAG, under the Display Tab. Or, go to Control Panel----->Device Manager, & then click on Display adapters. The Video card Model will be listed here.

Ok I did what the thread you gave me asked, but when I click on the short cut Ruse wil not run, I click yes on "Do you want to let this program make changes on your computer" but then nothing happens.

By the way to get my shortcut I went into ProgramFilex86/steam/steamapps/common/r.u.s.e/support/TocuhSmart and right clicked on "Ruse.exe" (Application Type)and clicked on "Create Shortcut", then I dragged the shortcut to the desktop and changed the compadablity from there. I would include a screenshot but I can't directly paste a screenshot into the reply window.

And if it still helps, my video card is "AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250".

Did you select the correct game's executable i.e. RUSE.exe, which I think should be located under this path i.e. C:\Program files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\R.U.S.E. ? So when you click on the shortcut, nothing happens ?

Anyway, first of all, as you are having Windows 7 OS, then try to disable UAC/User Account Control.

Go to Start---->Search, and then type UAC and press the ENTER key. Now after the Window opens, drag the slider all the way down to the NEVER NOTIFY option, Click on OK and then Reboot your PC after doing this.

To check and confirm whether your Video card is supported by this game, go here and select R.U.S.E. from the drop-down menu here. It will give you a brief overview of your Laptop/System:
