    You have to "grab" it on the very, lower, right side, of the medal, or it won't pick up.

    Greetings:

    Charlie901 is right, you should be able to just grab it.

    However, the awards are all messed up in this game. Knights Crosses in general were awarded for around 100K sunk, the Frontspange wasn't awarded prior to May 44 etc. As for the U-Boat badge, from 13 Oct 39 on, it was awarded personnel that had completed two war patrols.

    Considering that you only get one of these per patrol to hand out, it's going to take a **long** time to award them to all of your deserving men. If you're so inclined, you can award it to any of your men that have completed 2 patrols by changing 2 entries for them in the Crew_Career_xx.cfg in the SHIII directory in My Documents (where xx is your most recent patrol).

    Change MedalsInx7=-1 to MedalsInx7=7, and change Medal7=No to Medal7=Yes

    Make a backup copy first.

    Here's an example:

    [CREW_MEMBER_2]
    Name=Fritz Friederichs
    Index=3
    NrComp=2
    Type=2
    Grad=6
    Renown=0.000000

    Morale=0.800000
    Fatigue=0.040000
    HealthStatus=0
    WasWounded=No
    HitPoints=14.000000
    Experience=315.000000
    Rank=12
    NrQual=2
    Qualification0=4
    Qualification1=8
    SpecialAbility=-1
    MedalsInx0=-1
    MedalsInx1=-1
    MedalsInx2=-1
    MedalsInx3=-1
    MedalsInx4=-1
    MedalsInx5=-1
    MedalsInx6=-1
    MedalsInx7=7
    MedalsInx8=-1
    HeadIdx=0
    HeadTgaIdx=0
    BodyIdx=0
    BodyTgaIdx=1
    HasHelmet=Yes
    HelmetIdx=0

    VoiceIdx=1
    Prom=No
    Medal0=Yes
    Qual0=Yes
    Medal1=No
    Qual1=Yes
    Medal2=No
    Qual2=Yes
    Medal3=No
    Qual3=Yes
    Medal4=No
    Qual4=No
    Medal5=No
    Qual5=Yes
    Medal6=Yes
