up to date pc all bells and whistles.. Win xp OS
Myst works fine, Mist Exile works fine.. Riven loads, looks fine, but no sound.. have tried several proposted solutions without success. any ideas out there. my grandson wants to help atrus rescue catherine.

I did a quick search through old posts and found a suggestion that it may be your version of Quick Time as Riven needs version 3 to work. I don't know what suggestions you have already tried as you don't mention specifics.

But, you really should post your question on the Riven pages. It could possibly get ignored here on The Myst III: Exile pages. And there are people in this forum that are way smarter and up-to-date on gaming and the problems connected with it than I am.

I believe you can have multiple versions of quicktime loaded on your PC. I could be wrong, however. I'm running Win98se at home and I don't game at work (darn it!), so I'm not familiar with how XP is with games. Good luck.
