Thread: Semi OT: VIIC/41 1/72 finished model(without rigging yet)-IMAGE HEAVY | Forums

I usually model tanks in 1/35 scale(modelled 5 so far). This is my first serious attempt to do a model kit this huge. And I'm not a pro modeller. I use home tools to drill the flooding holes/vents above the waterline. The drilling took 3 weeks while the assembly and painting took 2 weeks. She's 94 cm long. Manufacturer: Revell Germany. Scale 1/72. Btw she's not rigged yet(no cables attached yet)

So Here's my newly completed U-995 of type VIIC/41. She had 9 patrols with 3 ships sunk(7900+ BRT). She survived the war and after being surrendered to British was transferred to Norway. She's now a museum ship in Germany.

I'm not a good photographer so some of the pictures i took are kinda blurry. And sorry for the background clutter. I hope you enjoy them as much as i do:

wow good work! I tried to build a model once in college for a class. I thought it would be easy but it was a gluey horribly painted mess! You definatly have alot of talent!

Can I kill you? I would like to kill you and steal your skill. I own an airbrush but I'm absolute gash with it.

    Beautiful.

Some more pics to make up for the blurry image

Now do you see the gray chip just above the front saddle tank? Well honestly it's not there in the real model. Somehow somethin got in the way(stick) on that point/place on the model during the shoot.

This one is kinda blurry. All the blurry images is caused by the shot taken too near(less than 30cm) Dumb me i guess was okay when looking thru the lenses.

@Messervy: You totally beat me when building tanks and most probably when building any kit/model. Very proffesional.

I'll take 2! No seriously! I have been thinking about buying a 1:72 Revell kit and converting it to radio-controlled.....

    Just cos i Can!

    I have 5 tanks & 2 ships also.

    I have
    HMS Verulam (V Class Destroyer - 1:96)
    Revell Flower Class Corvette (1:72)
    2x Tiger I
    2x King Tiger (Different Turrets)
    1x JadgTiger

    All Tanks are 1:16

    lemme think... pics....

I stress that the first King Tiger is now painted properally! Also the Destroyer now carries a different paint job.

@Karl_Donitz_Jr: Excellent King Tiger!. I'm sure now the destroyer come out superbly aswell.

I'm thinkin about building a British WWII destroyer to go in pair with the U-boot. Doesn't have to be in 1/72 scale which is way too big for a DD.

Thanks []_---_[]Kitt! That 1:96 Deans Marine Destroyer is 4 feet long My next project (when I get proper plans made) will be 6feet and a German "M" Class Light Cruiser, or an E100 tank... 140 tonnes

I am just waiting for a quote on the 1:16 Tamya Pather as well hehe my armour division is second to none!

Anywho if you are doing a destoyer to the same scale, expect it to be big
