First off, I was a huge fan of the original Blazing Angels. I owned it on both consoles, and beat it 100% on both versions. The PS3 version was superior in almost every regard.
Secondly, I was excited about buying Secret Missions, but after I played the game, I sadly feel like UBI took several steps backward in this franchise.
1 - The diss on the USA. Where are the American Warplanes? Seriously. A WWII game without the Mustang (for example) is not right on any level. Do I detect Anti-American sentiment? I hope not, and hopefully there was a legitimate reason behind this.
2 - The "Warhawk" weapons. These type of weapon systems do not belong in a WW2 game. Sure, they were based on true to life concepts, but come on. It feels so wrong.
3 - The missions. I feel like I am playing a game where the Developers ran out of ideas. Stick with the formula of basic flight games, IE - Ace Combat 6.
4 - The Visuals. I run a 57" DLP with HDMI hook ups, and the graphics although artistic, lack any sense of realism, and don't look that sharp. An arcade flight game works with realistic graphics.
5 - The multiplayer. The rockets in the original Blazing Angels allowed the unskilled to fight. Now, you have guided missiles that are guaranteed kills?
In closing, I will commend you on the RPG style of plane upgrades. Loved the squadron logos. However, I would have liked to have seen Ubi take this direction instead.
A - For example, start off with the base Spitfire (MKI). When you unlock upgrades and purchase them, why not actually upgrade the Spit to lets say, Mark V? Same concept, just a little more on the accurate side.
I don't know what the console sales have been, but something tells me, they ain't that good, and to be honest, it's a shame.

Some excellent points and suggestions:
Let's get rid of the "Warhawk" and other squirrelly weapons. Give us a good gun and make it a dogfight. Really can't stress this one enough. Fewer gimicks and self guided missles. More real WWII dogfights.
I love the idea of starting off with a certain level of plane and then it upgrades over time as you progress through the game I love it.

Other than a few High Points the game is a little flat... Dont get me wron I have played the **** outta it.... BUTTTTT if it were not for the voice chat on the PS3 I would have put the game away a long time ago...
