Thread: Good Widescreen LCD Monitor | Forums

  1. #1
I'm in the market for a good LCD Widescreen monitor. It will be used for gaming, net surfing, and word processing. I have a Geforce 7900 GT, so playing games at the native res of 1680x1050 wont be a problem. Here are the two monitors I'm trying to choose between.

    or

Both of those are the right size and resolution, and the price fits my budget, although if you guys have a better monitor to recommend for a slightly higher price, please do. Thanks for any feedback.

EDIT: Fixed the links, sorry bout that.

I wouldn't suggest true widescreen unless you confirm that most of the next generation games are going to be widescreen compatable. as for brands i would suggest LG or Samsung. They make some pretty nice larger LCD 20.1" to 23" much bigger than than seems to make it hard to play in my oppinion. (too much screen to try focusing on) Dell makes a nice 24" widescreen if you truely want that.

EDIT: As for future games supporting widescreen, I dont really think that's going to be an issue because every single game I have gotten recently has had native support for widescreen displays. If not, there is almost always an entry for custom resolutions in a game's .ini file.

I'm also looking for an LCD widescreen... but I'm wondering, if a game doesn't support it, does it play in 4:3 or stretch it?
