Seeing how many posts there are on this forum about how bad, crappy, buggy,... this game is, I felt obliged to post another one about how good it is. It is true the game is buggy. I bought it yesterday. I share this pc with 2 other people, so I was waiting anxiously to start playing. When I finally installed it, it froze after the tutorial. I spent last night getting my game fixed (using this forum mostly). I'm still a bit frustrated because of the loading times.
But when I finally got to play it, I was amazed. This game feels so real. It reaches a level of realism that, to me, even Oblivion couldn't match. Appart from that, there is the storyline. Although it is a bit linear, you can still fulfill objectives the way you like, and the game doesn't push you in a direction too much.
!!!Spoiler!!! I like the feel of the story very much. Like the chapter (chapter 2?) where you come in riding a horse, and end up getting dragged into the gatehouse. Or the level where you have the ghoul to get the crystall. Or when you have to create a diversion and grab the crystal. I had to really restrain myself not to run as fast as possible when I got it. (Tried running the first time, but I made too much noise...) !!!End of Spoiler!!! All just examples of the creativity of the story and the realistic feel of the game. And there are of course the small things that really finish it: like the cool animations when preparing to do spells or swinging you weapon(s) around. Not to mention the fact that you can accualy use everything around you to kill enemies and reach objectives.
And appart from that, I was pleasantly surprised to see the developpers of the game are accualy monitoring to see how the game can be improved, and accualy posting solutions to problems themselves. Thanks to Arkane for the nVidia drivers tip, it fixed my game, and thanks for the other users for other tips.
