I wondered if anyone had done a skin of the P-38 in the Haze Blue format. It might be difficult to find a picture of a haze blue version of the P-38 but they were done late in the production of the P-38. It's a special blue color that dissapears at altitude or over sea. The F-4U color is the closest approximation Ive seen. At any rate I dont have photoshop and I dont have a linux board up, and so I cant do this skin myself. I was wondering if anyone else had tried? If anyone wanted to there was also an Orange P-38 once I think she got repainted but it was the ten-thousandth P-38 ever built. It was bright orange and had the word 'yippee' on its wings. The cockpit was still green though. or zinc oxide, or whatever...

I would belive that this may be the color your looking for. It is a Recon 38.


As for "Yippee", that would have been the 5,000th P-38 built and was painted "Fire Engine Red", although it is hard to tell here is a couple of pictures of her.



I can't for the life of me find the info just yet on the "orange 38" but as soon as I do I'll post it for you.
Also I do have a skin that is identical to the Blue one above (blue is a tad darker than in the photo) I will be more than happy to send it to you if you wish

Do you want "YIPPEE", because, if you do, I can send it to you, give addy, and I will send it. I didnt do it myself, I dont have photoshop either, I think I got it form IL-2 Skins when it was still up a long time ago, it was the best skin site ever made, good thing it is comming back, at least I think it is, it has the stuff on the site now. But, give addy, and I will send you "YIPPEE".
