Hi all,
I can confirm that Win 7 64bit is not the issue for me anyway. added a second drive to my machine and loaded a 32bit version of Win 7 pro which gives me the same error, the only difference between the 2 versions is my main 64b build is on a 500gb drive and has office etc installed.
As you know i've been onto Ubisoft about this but so far all they have done is ask me to run a quick program which got shed loads of details about my system, sent this info friday will chase them Monday PM.

With the help of Dominik at Ubisofts technical support my issue is now solved, game has to be played using a local user account with full admin rights, before i was using a domain account which did have full admin rights including local admin rights on the machine so i havent got a clue why it now works but heyho i can now drive!

almcgd, do i do this by right clicking and runing as administrator? If not, how do i run it like you did? im hopeing this will fix mine too. Driver just patched when i tried to load a minuite ago, but it still doesnt work

I attempted to load the game with the "superadministrator" in windows 7 and the game worked amazingly. However how can i get it to work on my standard administrator account? i would rather not stay logged into my superadmin account.

I have the same Problem with MS Sidewinder FFB Joystick under Win7 32Bit. Its an old Sidewinder with Game Port. So i was thinking at first the Game Port is the Problem. Vista and Win7 dount longer support Gameports. I use an old PCI Soundblaster 5.1 Soundcard for this Controller with an adapted Driver. I found this driver into BB from Creativ. I can use the Joystick in all Games perfectly. I cant use only the force feed back funktion, but all other runs great.(the driver works with other Gameport Controller too, include Wheels)
Now i read here from other Players with other Controller and the same Problem: Driver SF runs only with disconnected Controller. What can a Programmer do wrong at a so simpel Code for a Joystick Port Request? Windows give him back all what he need with his Functions.
Its stupid to stearring the Cars with a Key. Keys are Digital. You have only two Situations: Pressed or none pressed. So its difficult to drive for me. The most good Joysticks are analog and make its easyer to drive at high speed.
I hope they fix this Problem.
I begin to loose the fun at this Game.

It would be nice if someone from Ubisoft chimed in here and said they were working on fixing this...

******* GREAT Work DTSNEO6! *******
He's right! It DOES INDEED WORK if you create a Superadmin account and play it from there. Not a fix, but a work around.

To turn on this ‘super’ administrator account, type cmd in the search box & DON'T hit enter! cmd will appear at top. Right click on it to choose ‘run as administrator’.
In the DOS box type the following to enable this account:
Net user administrator /active:yes
Then, goto START & the little (right arrow) next to SHUT DOWN and choose "Log off."
Logon as the newly created Super Administrator (it may just be called Administrator, but it's super.)
Play the game. It worked for me. A real pain in the b u t t, but at least I can play it though. UBISOFT needs to step up to the plate, this game has been out for WEEKS!!!

I exchanged extensive emails with UBIsoft support. Until I was finally told "there's nothign more we can do for you" So they were pretty much useless.
