Thread: New Headset for X-Mas | Forums

My daughters have asked what I'd like for Christmas in the $100.00 US range. I presently have an Altec Lansing headset w/ microphone, I think its a AHS 602 model.

Any suggestions on something better in the 100 to 150 range. Only used for IL2.

    Thanks, Pooka

Hey Pooka. I am using a Sennheiser PC160SK Gaming headset. They run between $60 & $80 USD. Very comfortable fit and the mic is awesome. I have tried the 5.1 digital surround sound types of headsets but found I like the one I currently own better than any other headset I have used in the past.

Medusa 5.1 I think it is called "Home" version

Very nice system enables you to link 5.1 Loudspeakers and switch between headset and speakers and regulate the volume AND regulate the volume of each individual speaker in the headset.

    five stars!

That Sennheiser is a good looking headset. I have an Altec (same model) that I'm persisting with, despite a 6 months break using Sennheiser's 156USB headset.

I bought the latter because they are lighter on the ears than the AH602. Unfortunately the microphone stopped working after half a year and I'm back to Sq.1

Apart from the extra bulk, and the rather tight fit, and the need to change batteries in the volume control (and the poor quality mute/low/high switch) - the AH602 still sounds fine, and the mike still works well.

    Now, do you have TrackIR?

Thanks all, opted for the Medusa 5.1, hope its performs as described. Appreciate the suggestions and yes Brando I've had TIR for some time. Just wanted to see if there's something better, the Altec works fine.

OK...I'm curious dtk419...how is the headset?

I've just come home from work to find headset in peices on the floor with it layed at the feet of three guilty looking kids...

I think it's time to spoil myself ...
