Thread: Give Back The GR-1 & GR-IT Gameplay | Forums

  1. #1
I have GR-2 and I have to admit that the graphics are really great, I mean the maps are absolutely unbelievable and I like the way you can choose your camo, and I love all the new weapons, but that is all that is great about the game. There are many many downsides to GR-2 as:

the way you had to pick your weapons after everytime you die...

being able to pick where you spawn which was suppose to be so you dont get spawn killed as much but turns out to be even worse than before...

when you are shooting someone and they dont die until after you unload a whole clip sometimes due to bullet lag no matter how good your server is...

the over the shoulder view. I mean on single player that would be great, but not in multiplayer, it is far to easy to use it to cheat...

I was a big seige person but in GR-2 the count down clock sucks and makes it no fun at all.

This is my overall thoughts about what I wished Ubi/Redstorm would make another GR Game:

Go back to the old ways GR was designed and developed. The only thing they needed to improve in the older games were the graphics, glitches, and the slants. That was all. I miss the old days where i could spend endless hours playing GR and GR-IT with all of my online friends. But now ever since GR-2 came out its exactly like Rainbow-Six, my online friends including myself have lost interest. Why make a game that was so original and turn it around and make it mimic rainbow six. I mean Rainbow Six is pumping out games like rabbits havin sex.!! So why make GR into Rainbow Six. I loved GR! Thats the reason why I didnt play RB6 was because I hated it. I'm sure that GR3 will not be like the old gameplay but just please give me the old style gameplay back. I'm sure I am not the only one that wishes that. I mean even if they wont, atleast give us all the old maps from GR1 so we can download them on GR-IT, that would be all I would need to be happy for the rest of my life.

    (ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER THOUGHTS?)

Read the discussion Kleaneasy started. She posted something directly from E3 and it clearly states that GR3 will have a more tactical focus, but that is only for PC. The console version will have a more action focus.

Interesting. Well, some people happen to like Rainbow Six, but I agree that Ghost Recon should have more of a tactical focus.

    Terrorist: I have no intelligence!
Sam: Hehe...You just called yourself stupid.

PC gameplay will be altered to suit the PC audience. Tactical and strategic elements will be added to create an experience more similar to the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Reconâ® PC title which garnered Game of the Year awards from IGN and PC Gamer </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I am an Xbox user and I know the GR2 Xbox community also wanted the same level of tactical and strategic elements similar to the original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

Why can't they make a seperate game or game mode for the run n gun crowd and a sim mode for us like in first to fight. I haven't played anything other than sim mode but it was pretty good.

I want to point out that the original GR (at least of PC) did have 2 modes. The regular mode where you had limited ammo, and didn't run like you were wearing a pair of jogging shorts and an arcade mode with unlimited ammo and faster running.

Again, the original GR was an award winner that allowed people to play how they wanted unlike GR2 for XBox.

Maybe if enough of use keep requesting it, UBI will consent.
