Thread: Want less quitters? | Forums

Here's a method to minimize quitting on your server. Ask the players how experienced they are (beginner, intermediate, expert) and try to keep the game balanced.

If you trounce them, they are more likely to quit.

    I'd still rather "trounce" them

Well, if you prefer an ego-building, easy victory over obviously inferior players to a balanced, challenging match where everyone has fun and everyone learns something then you do indeed have that option.

Just try not to whine on these forums about people quitting. Because its OBVIOUS that people will quit under these circumstances.

I dont whine about it, I dont even get that angry when people leave. Unless they're on my team. Then I feel like gettin their IP and hunting them down.

The problem with that method is that you then get stuck with some dude that doesnt want to play as a team, breathes like a pornstar into your mic, or just plain wont talk to you at all. More than half the fun of this game is having a decent team mate that you can co-ordinate with. It would be nice if there was some way that UBI could encourage long term team-mates. I suppose the "buddy list" they are adding will help to some extent. SOme other ideas that could help might be...

-customized team "patchs" (like Rouge Spear).
    -ranking system based on "teams".
    -ladder play

    Just my 2 cents.

it doesnt matter how experienced or inexperienced people are they'll will quit if the wind hits their small balls in the wrong direction. Ive played with level 1 people who have stayed through a massive beat down and did not quit but people are like lvl 5 and up will quit as soon as you taunt them then snap their neck.
