Anyone who put effort into this should consider adding mission functionalities to the FC3 editor.
Their AI is fully functional in the FC3 editor yet Ubisoft haven't done a single effort in putting it to use.
the AI in FC3 is just incredible. the fact that you can just throw them in the most complex edited maps and it will find it's way around almost anything and get cover behind anything with no user intervention is just WOW.... someone really needs to find a way to put them to use in the editor with some objectives and outside the editor usage.
what a waste.

Yeah the AI in the map editor is definitely pretty decent, though I'd like it if you could tweak their behavior a little bit. For example I find they really like to wander to the edge of water if there's any shoreline or lake or other body of water nearby. After a while you get like 10 guys just standing at the water's edge looking out. Kind of groovy, but not so great for combat since they aren't looking for you. Would be nice to be able to set their routines, like you could have options like long-range patrol, drive boat, stand around, short range patrol, etc. Also being able to set their stats would be good, like Ace, Veteran, Rookie, etc. As it is now you can walk really close to them without them spotting you, though once they do they have really good accuracy and every AI on the map will chase after you, Benny Hill style.
And yes, proper single-player mission design would be great. We really need to be able to design a mission with goals, and then the player would start at a certain point, perform the tasks, then win the mission. Like you could have base capture missions, steal a car missions, assassination missions, kill everyone missions, rescue someone missions, etc. So we need triggers and more options so the mission is actually playable like in a real game, instead of what we have now where you have to really use your imagination. Also we need options for stuff like how many guns and how much ammo you can carry, we need skills like takedowns and weapon options like silencers.
Maybe Ubisoft will do this but maybe not. I really hope if Ubi doesn't, some modders can make it happen. The map editor is definitely pretty decent and it's fun to make maps, but it just needs to be tweaked so we can make proper missions. And they need to be played in-game, not in the flaky windowed mode that we have now.

it's such a no brainer to do that but UBI hasnt done that yet so i wonder where they put their FC3 resources. in DLC that is more missions or into patches or into more IGE options?
i wouldnt expect that ubi will create map packs since there are plenty of map makers out there now![]()
