Not really sure about you guys but with all this "im going to sue these people" you have to realize that you're not gonna get a penny trying to do so.

Last time i checked a forum manager promising you something does not equal Ubisoft promising you anything. So lose the false idea of you thinking you're going to win and just accept the fact that you payed money for something without doing proper research and suck it up

It really doesn't matter if they succeed or not.
The point is to make enough noise to get the higher ups to notice that people really hate how they use DRM.

Maybe Ubisoft will finally learn and get a PC friendly approach to releases. Probably not.

DRM is pathetically useless these days because it doesn't stop pirates one bit. From Dust was cracked within 12 hours. Did the DRM stop pirates? Nope. Infact as I've said in other threads, DRM just turns people OFF that game. Having personal DRM for a game such as this is bad because to beat piracy, You have to make the bought copy more wanted than the pirated copy. What do you get if you buy the game? Terrible DRM that requires that you HAVE to be online. What do you get if you pirate the game? No DRM and can play offline.

Already the pirates have the upper hand. Seriously Ubisoft, It doesn't take a genius to realize it.

Does that mean that if we paid for it and are unhappy we should go and download a pirated copy with no DRM? Sounds like a plug for pirating if I ever heard one.

I'm happy to see that it's not just disgruntled forum posters who are speaking out. rockpapershotgun is trying its best to do us justice and there seems to be quite a bit of buzz around other publications.
I don't think Ubisoft cares, but there are definitely other publishers watching this. Hopefully they'll follow CD Projekt's example in the future. Or maybe just not blatantly lie and impose draconian DRM.

If you purchased the game how is it pirating?

Its legitimate logic though, people will go for convenience, DRM is not popular, so legal or not, if its better and less of a hassle to pirate it, people will.

Which is the funniest part, the pirating makes the game less of a headache to use.
Do I agree with Piracy? No. But it happens for a reason. Its not just because people want free things, often there is a legitimate reason that it happens.

It's not the money, it's the blatant lying that ****ed me off.

I tried once to get a refund from both parties (unsuccessfully), filed a complaint with the BBB and went on with life. I just consider the 15 dollars a stupid tax for trying anything published on PC from Ubi. I know what kind of company Ubisoft is and the only reason I made an exception was because of Chahi. At this point I refuse to even try the game, it's uninstalled and hidden away in a folder on Steam.

Lesson learned.

I already contacted Steam and Ubisoft support. Also I'm a journalist. I have Ubisoft statement about DRM (before release), Steam shop page where is no info about constant internet connection and other stuff.
I already preparing article about it. Good thing about being a journalist.

All I need is a refund for a broken game.
