    ....and here we are.

The old and the faithful.....original Rainbow Six community that UBI ("the Company") stepped on/over in subsequent years with their nearly braindead and washed-out attempts at creating a semblance of the shooters Red Storm seemed to have been popping out of thin air.

I have to say this thread should be an embarassment to UBI ("the Company"). Of course as Omega1USCG pointed out a page back it's not like their execs have ever even seen it and even if they have they obviously never understood the argument presented here. Change requres action. Not the least of which requires having listened to and understood reasons as to why. Many such reasons we have given UBI ("the Company") only to have evidence (by this thread) as to their falling on deaf ears.

It is good to see the "old guard" still out and about........it is however sad that we convene in a thread such as this.

Here's to seeing you all around. I swear I've seen a few of you in Red Orchestra 2 and maybe even BF3...........these days I wile my time in SWTOR (Star Wars the old republic)........sad really since I'm such an FPS-nut. Oh well.......maybe MOH2 (Medal of Honor 2 the new one coming sometime) will bring something better since DICE has really lost my faith recently as well. Personally I thought Danger Close (SP DEVS for MOH 2010) did a fantastic job and since they will be doing the SP AND MP this time around (no DICE this time......hehe) I'll be looking forward to that.

Keep checking back oldies........who knows........maybe someday one of us will run UBI ("the Company") and then we can look back at this thread as having started it all! Cheers and good luck!

There never was any communication from Ubisoft, and now with Ms. Kleaneasy gone, we will likely not hear from any Ubisoft employee any time soon.

So sad a game with so much potential was abandoned by Ubisoft at such an early stage, along with all support and communication.

With a little effort, dedication, and loyalty, Ubisoft could have turned V2 into a first class title.
Come on Lethal, surely we will never let this thread die.

We have to keep it going just on the off chance that it will one day be read, I miss the days when it was constantly at the top of the forum page.

    Sorry Guys,

I haven't checked here in a long time, but I can state that true to my word .. I have never purchased another Ubisoft title since V2.

I have messed around with Red Orchestra 2, and that game is also buggy .. but one thing very different between Ubisoft and Tripwire is .. TWI is still working on improving that game and recently released another patch that was around 5-6 GB.

I at least have to give them credit for game support and custumer communication nearly 1 year after game release. The devs, and programmers actually do still post in the forums.

In fact, even though there was a major patch on July 27th., they just announced what is coming next in the game. (unlike Ubisoft)
The other interesting thing with TWI is, they launch a beta for each patch before official release so they can collect data from gamers before it is released in a patch.

Not saying that I think the game is really great, or even fully finished at this stage, but rather that Tripwire does make an honest effort to communicate with their gamer base, and work hard to correct issues and improve what gamers want in a game.

Ubisoft could, and should, use a small company like Tripwire, as a model for their future!!

I just want to go somewhere game related and not be lied to constantly. Theres simply no freedom for creativity in the gaming industry anymore. If you want freedom then you have to get a publisher with big pockets willing to take a chance. I started college with being a game designer in mind, but three years in I changed my major because I was so disgusted with the industry. The lack of creativity especially in the shooter genre is sickening. Not only that but the pr side of it is even worse. A perfect example of this that was recent and Ubi related was Conviction being Xbox exclusive. Remember all the bs we had to hear about why it was an exclusive? "Xbox is Splinter Cells home" etc? Then they turn around and bring the next game to PC and PS3. The sad thing is that when the majority of people hear this kind of stuff they actually believe it. I think this is why a lot of people dont care for Ubi, not necessarily the developers but the publisher mostly. How many of you would be mad if they communicated with us and brought us a game that wasnt entirely "hardcore" but also wasnt a cod knockoff or a Vegas 3 type game? Hell Id be happy with a game that was R6 at the core but also introduced new things, and was actually finished upon release, and supported with fixes and content. I think most of you can admit that if the Vegas games werent so buggy and unsupported then you would have MAYBE enjoyed them. After those games came out they justified not supporting them with the fact that there simply wasnt enough people playing them. Hmm I wonder why. Common **** sense isnt something the big guys at Ubi have been good with over the years. Their policy seems to be spending as little on the development of a game as possible even at the expense of falling short of the previous game in quality and gameplay. If they truly cared about more than the money then they would support their games better and allow more freedom, resources, and time for the developers. Please do not put "To be Continued" at the end of another R6 game and then sell us the same game with a 2 in the title.
