Hi all,
Since I'm pretty sure few people actually read our stickied threads at the top, I'm posting the link to the Gamespy article here.
It's a really good article about Myst V, with only very minor spoilers.

Look familiar? You'll be revisiting the same locale from the beginning of Riven.
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
didn't riven get destroyed at the end of the game? and also, i can't identify where in riven that is. the big dagger suggests the start (like it says) but the rest doesn't look anything like it. besides, we saw the dagger fall into oblivion at the end of riven.
The Gamespy author is incorrect in his assumption that the dagger means you'll be visiting Riven. That dagger ended up somewhere else after falling through the Fissure, and I'll give you one guess as to where (if you've played Uru even briefly you may already know the answer to the riddle without being aware of it).

actually i never played uru. but surely things that fall into the fissure end up in 'our' (the player's) home? haha that would be funny, i giant metal dagger crash lands from no-where in your loungeroom![]()
It's true, thewebb, good thinking
In Uru, if you wander around the Cleft a bit (which is on Earth), you'll see the destroyed telescope from Riven, and also a giant Whark skeleton!
Obviously, in Myst V, the giant dagger has fallen through and suffered the same fate... most likely that shot is inside the volcano. (there's a huge volcano nearby the objects that fell in the Cleft).
