Hi, I just installed Settlers 4 to play some custom game, but I can´t set teams and also other options in singleplayer free game. Is there some way I can make these options available? Thanks

Have you tried other maps - from memory the "free game" that you mention is to practice using all the functions of the game while learning how to expand territory, make troops, and generally get production to all the buildings.

I don´t know what precisely you mean, but there are 4 folders in free game-singleplayer,multiplayer,custom and some kind of map generator. Now I was searching all the folders and found out, that you can choose these options only in those mirrored maps. Thats strange, especially beacuse I was looking for some natural looking maps.

I just don´t understand, why some strategy games simply don´t allow you to change such things as number of players, race or alliances per custom map. And then you can´t change the maps in the editor neither. I don´t know what was the problem with older Settlers games, where you could do that.

Using the random map generator, you can choose the numbers of opponents you wish to play against, and also whether the map is symmetrical or not.

Multiplayer games are normally "mirrored" to make a level playing field for each of the players.
