So far from what i've seen you're fighting two types of infantry in this game. Ostruppen who wouldn't have been privilaged to get a G/K43 in most cases, and FSJ that had equipped the FG42 in limited numbers.
At any rate, it's a front that didn't exist before June 6th 1944, the G43 was pushed in reaction to the SVT-40. Most of them were in the hands of units actually fighting a war, not the units sitting in the back in defense of a front that didn't exist yet.
Aside from the fact that you already have two semi-automatic rifles to choose from in the game with an infinite (well, I haven't run out yet) supply of ammo, why would you want another.

I think it's a good observation! It would make more for a menacing against spoiled-for-luck G.I.'s. Did you know that during the WW1, The war office could have put a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) into every american's hand, but didnt because they were afraid the weaponry would fall into the hands of the enemy!
There are many reasons why, but who really knows the reason why?
