Thread: can't make the jump | Forums

  1. #1
i use the first book (is it teledahn?) to get to elevator with green button which takes me to roof of spinning building where there is a walkway extending out. i have tried and tried to make that jump to the pinnacle with the journey cloth on it, to no avail. what is the best way to go about making the leap?

    thanks, catsup

    Hi catsup.

    Welcome to the Uru forums.

Btw, the name of the age is Gahreesen.
Even though this is not a real technical bug, the answer is all about trials and errors jumps.

The secret is that you have to make a run-jump by using the cap lock key on your keyboard. The timing is also important. Do not wait too long before jumping. If you do not make it on the mesa/island, notice where you fall and adjust your run-jump timing accordingly.

You can learn more about the ages by reading the books on the right side bookshelf in your Relto. (if you are playing the solo version)

You seem to have a game bug.

The easiest way to try a fix would be to delete your Gahreesen book and start afresh. Note that you will not loose your cloths progress. The last cloth you pressed will still be available.

For other fix possibilities, read the posts in this old thread. (specially Heimdall G.'s posts)...click here

Btw, I start my run-jump from about two steps before the edge and try to jump just before the edge. The moment you press the spacebar for the jump is very critical. It must be done before or at the edge, but not after (re: possible computer lag).

    thanks for all the info.

i tried to go download D'ni ex pack from gigex and it seems to be no longer available.

so i guess the next step is to get rid of the gareesh file in case it is corrupted or something.

this is a new puter made for gaming, so memory, etc. is not the problem. Dell XPS720, OS XP. i had no myselt files on the old puter when i transferred data to new one.

i do think that Ubi should help with this since it is obviously a game flaw. so, i will email them as well.

any further thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks again, catsup

Did you read all the posts at the link I gave you in my previous post ?

    P.S.
Even if you have a new computer it does not mean that all your drivers are necessarily up to date.

By deleting the Gahreesen book at your Relto, we did not mean to say that you should delete files from your computer.

What we meant, was to click on the metallic tab at the bottom of the Gahreesen book and say yes when the game ask you if you are certain you want to delete that book. (the book will sink/slide backward out of sight)

The To D'ni Xpack can be downloaded from:
-- GamersHell (select server, wait for page to load, then scroll down page and click to start download)
    -- FilePlanet (free registration required)
    -- GameSpot (free registration required)

If you have problems installing To D'ni, see I am having a problem installing the To D'Ni expansion. Every time I try to install, I get an error..

    thanks.

i am presently downloading D'ni xpack. since i am living in what is probably the last area in the United States not to have high speed internet, it is taking 24 hrs!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm at a point in the game now where i just have to be able to make this jump. i have three of the pillars.

just curious about Myst Revelation. are IV and V both worth getting?

and what other games like the Myst series do you reccomend?

i'll be back once the xpack is in place.

Other games like the Myst series? Well, that depends on how you define "like". Since Myst started the genre and remains its prime example, other games are only imitations...some good, some not so good!

Be that as it may, for a sampling see:
