I saw another post which brought up some questions about Newiview, so this is continuation of some settings i use as they pertain to IL2/fb/pf.
It took some trial and error, but it is more than effective for my simple poor man's set up.

I use the mouse to pan. If i had a hat switch i would use it for trims.

If you need help understanding Niewview i can give you a couple pointers:

    Go to Buttons/Hotkeys/Alternate Mode OFF
The default is F1. If this key is constantly held, the view will remain centered and not move with the mouse. I mapped it to a different key that coincides with a button on my JS. I then used a command on my JS to hold, and release this key. So in effect, pressing this button (hold) turns off the mouse view function, and pressing it again (release) turns it back on.

The next thing i did, i went to
    Buttons/speed modifiers/change speed *3
I mapped my mouse button 1 in both boxes. (so its a combination mouse 1+ mouse 1)
Not only will doing this let you pan the mouse around at *3 speed when mouse 1 is pressed, but it will snap back to center when mouse 1 is released, so as long as the Alternate Mode OFF button is in the hold position.

    Next:
    Under HELMET,
I still dont have a complete understanding of this page. But under "get data from" you will need to check Mouse. Below that you see smoothing level: mine is at 50.
    Threshold: mine is at 6000
    X Axis speed factor:
Y axis speed factot: These determine how fast the mouse will move (sensitivity)
This will also be effected by your in game settings for mouse sensitivity. mine is at 1.0
Both my axis are set at 0.229, remembering that i use a speed multiplier to pan.
If i need smoother slower pans, SHIFT is the default at lets me pan at the 0.229 speed, when the Alternate Mode OFF button is in the hold position. When the Alternate Mode OFF button is in the release position, the mouse will pan at 0.229 speed on its own. Pressing mouse 1 will then multiply it by 3.

    I hope this makes sense.

Below that are the K values. (3 boxes). After playing with these numbers i have mine set as follows: K1:35 K2:25 K3:10

These seem to effect how much smoothing the program does and correlates with how fast you move the mouse. So faster movements get faster pans. I still dont understand it, but this is what works for me.

Maybe someone will see this and shed some lite.

    thanks
    Bill

It does a few different things.
You can emulate mouse movement with the JS.
You can emulate mouse movement with your hat switch.
You can emulate mouse movement with keystrokes.
You can emulate joystick movements with your mouse. (fly with your mouse)
I use it for mouse smoothing, which allows for more subtle movement of the mouse and easier tracking when panning on aircraft or objects.
There are some other functions that i dont have a use for, but its similar to a key mapper.

I use NewView to emulate keystrokes too:

But, dont get that one button to operate Teamspeak in joystick work...

i should probably mention that im using version 33 still as 37 has a few more features but i find that version 33 was simpler to setup and use with out proper instruction.
