Thread: Level 19 cant save checkpoints | Forums

After getting to the helicopter with the two gats, my checkpoints wont save. On the rare occasion that I make it tp the room with the fresh supplies and I later get killed, I have to start from the helicopter again. Also, the graphics become choppy. How can I get the save points to stick?????

I assume that you are talking about the dam level.

Savepoints are triggered based on your location on the map. Maybe you need to move around a bit to make it to trigger a savepoint.

Once you have made it to the chopper and killed most of the fatboys and locusts, jump into the water and move about a bit. I think there is a savepoint when you hit the deep water. Don't go too far down the river because you will hit an autokill zone.

I've not heard of the problem with the game not saving, but I have also had problems with level 19.

Another player also had the exact same problem...at some point in level 19, the game begins to lock up, and the video gets unplayable due to extreme choppy playback.

No amount of restarting, settings changes, or trying to start at a previous level helped.

Just gave up and restarted the game...while after I got a new computer that is

The problem there is the insane number of sounds. Either
    - turn off EAX (and hardware mixing-not sure) for that part,
    - set the variable s_MaxActiveSoundSpots to a lower number (like 20), write down the original value first,
    - just wait a while for the action to settle down

    Either should do the trick!
