Hi all, REALLY need you guys help. I bought 1946 DVD few days ago. I've also installed patch 4.08m. I have a few problems but starts with this one first.

I played a few games on Quick mission mode with no problem in taking off and retracting gear using "G" key. But when I started playing Pilot career USN mission, on those taking off on the Aircraft carrier, the plane does not take off. I tried using "A" autopilot mode, it took off but after taking off, I switched back to manual mode, I could not retract my gear after pressing "G" key. No problem with retracting my gear on Airfield in other mission except USN mode.

Can someone please tell my why? Thank you very much in advance.

I forgot to mention before taking off the Aircraft carrier, I activated Mixture 100 (Auto Rich) and Prop Pitch Auto too, these 2 buttons seems does not working, just like the "G" key on retracting the gear.

    Hi..........

Some USN carrier based aircraft need to have their gear retracted manually to do this you need to map the key under controls such as Ctrl+g to retract and shift+g to extend or through your joystick, but remember to hold down either the shift or Ctrl will tapping th g key until gear is fully down or fully retracted.

As a norm you use manul gear if you lose automatic control through damage ie being shot or flak damage.

    Hope this helps

    Sorry

Also you need to remove the chocks before the aircraft will launch from the deck check under control to find which key is mapped

    Hi............

Pacific fighters is set in the pacific and is based around pearl harbour, Midway etc if Im right so any aircraft from that battle such as the P40, Zero etc will have missions from pacific fighters etc if you follow me.

IL2 1946 has new theaters such as:

Large new historical maps of the Kiev region, a Manchuria region map focusing on the border between the USSR, China and Japanese-occupied Korea, a large bonus Burma map and an online Khalkin Gol / Nomonhan map

    Forgotten battle is set in:

    Gulf of Finland summer
    Gulf of Finland winter
    Hungary summer
    Hungary winter
    L'vov summer

    Ace Expansion pack

1 Finnish map area representing the Finnish front and Hungarian map area representing the Balaton Lake area in Hungary

    Pacific Fighters:

Midway, Okinawa, Pearl Harbor, and Singapore.

Also this info I got from the IL2 website.

    Hope this helps.

    Welcome to the forum, crshark!
    Great info from *****myer161.
You'll find that and so much more in the Manual, an PDF file in the game folder (My Computer-->Program Files-->Ubisoft-->IL-2 Sturmovic 1946). Also check out the Aircraft Guide and Controls PDF's in the same folder. All will help you with the myriad of details like which planes only have manual gear, how to uncover the gunsight in certain planes, how to use the bombsight in certain planes, etc.
Also check out Bearcat99's sticky for "Nuggets" at the top of the forum.
Lots to learn. Great fun! Lots of m8's here who will try to help you, too.
Key point. Practice, be patient. It will come. Good Luck!
