Why does the simultaneous turns stop when you get close to another human player? This is DUMB.
Simultaneos turns works very well in all other turned base games which have it!
eg.
Lords of the Realm 2/3
Civilization 2/3 etc.

Actually, theoretically, I think it's good that it goes into turn-based when you are within range of an enemy hero.
The question is why doesn't it go back to simultaneous turns when you are out of range?

I would love it if they went back to Simultaneous when Heroes were out of each others range.
Rather than doing automatically.Players could agree to return to stimulaneous turns "if" they are out of range of others.
There could be a button to send a request.But all automatic is not so good.It can result in very much problems.Such as you go in X direction he goes in -X direction you are totally 2 days behind him.If it were normal turns you would be following him(thats a simple example ofcourse).
Is not just dumb, its useless too. That's the reason heroes V failed BIG time as a multiplayer game. Age of wonders had sim turns and it was great to play. Do heroes devs play another tbs games ?
Is it much to ask to add an OPTION to players to choose between this crappy sim turns and real sim turns ? If they add real sim turns to the expansion, i would consider giving this game a second try.
