Thread: Regarding: The R6V PC Mess | Forums

1. #1
Hello R6V PC Community,

Planning to join the R6: Vegas PC online community soon (buy the game), I've been disappointed to read all the negative feedback regarding UBISoft's ignorance and indecisiveness; furthermore, the 1.06 fix of a patch.

I just send UBISoft an E-Mail regarding the issue, (not that I don't suspect hundreds of you have already done that), but hopefully they'll smarten up. I truly believe that the engine R6V uses (similar to that of Brothers in Arms) exhibits a perfect feel for a unique FPS game.

Considering COD4; someone described it perfectly in another thread "meet in the middle and have a highnoon showdown" or something.. haha. Seriously, COD4 appears to be deceivingly unoriginal.

Anyways, my hope with this post is to try and pull some of R6V's PC community back together. So, let's see if we can keep this thing alive.

Yep, both GRAW2 & Vegas are good games, but UBI needs to find some better programmers, when you see how good looking & how smooth COD4 runs on a mid range PC. Although I think UBI's netcode maybe better, in COD4 other players seem to jerk around the map with pings just in the 70's.

Also UBI should get recognition for the coop campaign in their games, Vegas & GRAW2 are amazing for this.

Although I totally agree that COD4 is a "meet in the middle and have a highnoon showdown" type of game, it's totally addictive even for me that normally hates that type of game.

Also COD4 seems to be bringing back lots of ex-Trophy-Hunters members, even though Trophy Hunters was built on UBI's R6 games.

It looks like UBI has really shot themselves in the foot

Not only Graw ! and II and Rainbow--look at the BlaZing Angels forum and you will also see similar complaints about poor online play , support (non existent),poor game development etc. Silent Hunter IV--similar.

It appears that the problems that we have experienced here are common with a number of UBI releases lately. Various UBI forums as well as fan sites have saved me a great deal of money this past year (SH IV, Graw II, BA 2). I avoided the games because of the complaints in the forums. It's reached the point (imho) that UBI should consider leaving the PC market.

I have to agree to what overkill is saying, the coop is amazing in both those titles, only to bad that there are so many bugs left in both games

Both games would be amazing if the bugs where fixed and with more admin options.

Welcome Juno84, let's hope we can keep this potentially good tactical shooter alive for a while longer. It still hasn't died, although blood pressure is rather low...

Thanks for the welcome, Hidman07. Also, I appreciate everyone's replies.

In my opinion, there isn't a game out; not crysis, not SOF: Payback, not Call of Duty 4 that can match the realistic and innovative feel of R6 Vegas' engine. Too few people anknowledge the unique element to R6V's feel, thus it would definately be a shame to see this community fall apart before the next patch..

Besides, I don't see what's so attractive about these new games, blasting 16-legged mechanical octopie while floating underwater with a shoulder-mounter nuclear warhead launcher...

This is something that I can agree with you wholeheartedly!!! If only UBI realized the potential of this game but, alas, they really don't care as they are preparing for the launch of their next shoddy/buggy/unoptimized/console port.

Which part? The crashing or the swearing at the computer because of the bugs?

I take it you never played Lockdown? Rainbow Six is dead. Terrible console ports have taken over.

Don't be razzled-dazzled by a gush of new maps. Remember the main purpose of the patch is to fix an extremely buggy game!
