Thread: EDEN final version out, sorry for the trouble >_< | Forums

    As I said, if too many issues pile up ill be forced to release an update. I want to apologize for that, but i really didnt have much of a choice other then to release the map on the day ubi announced the contest-results, since they originally said they would put the maps up for download (now, i do have an idea why they didnt )
    Anyway, consider this the final version, there will be no more updates. If you want to put the map for download somewhere else, then i ask you tho use THIS version (ill also talk with mr. mic if he wants to add it in his mappack). and if you already put the old version up, WITHOUT asking me, then at least be kind enough to update it now. i also ask anyone who wants to host a version of the map, to include the readmefile of the rar-archive in the package!
    heres the list of changes, im sure you will see why an update was necessary:

    .Vent in garden goes two-ways now
    .Suicide at start is prevented by a new GE
    .Collision of garden-platforms improved
    .Eve-objective is now called Eve
    .Now, mines are not placeble on the main-elevator anymore ( &gt;_&lt; )
    .elevatorcollision improved generally
    .spy now gets wet in water-passage
    .railgrab above the generator should now be possible, furthermore mercs can no longer jump the rail and fall down
    .Diskhunt-mode bug and disk from story removed
    .adjusted story settings to: 12 minutes (people should have time for sneaking on this map!)
    .slightly updated the briefing-texts
    .Below the main-elevator, theres now a button to control it
    .electricfields work in specialvisions now
    .habitat-sunlight emitters work in specialvisions now
    .decreasing bomb-objective-time from 35 to 27
    .removing collision from flowers/grass in habitat
    .cavesound-bug fixed
    .cave hud-bug fixed
    .cave-alarm improved
    .liftglass lighted properly
    .added easteregg

    known issues that i wont bother with:
    .Adam/Eve Elevator-buttons control both doors, usually doesnt affect gameplay and should be considered as bug caused by the mercs attack

    you will get the file at http://www.carmofin.com and also, please tell anyone you want to play with to get it from there if he hasnt updated first. it may be a little annoying, but i think its definately worth it.

    Ive double and tripplechecked it now, its ready...
    the confusion was caused by the fact that even if you make a tiny change, the mapsize can go down from 1000 kb to 900, i can only guess that its bqecause of the compression-technique that is uses...
    but all that doesnt matter to you, now its ready ^^

    great map but do we delete the old one? Or do we just extract as if in a new install?

    all the files are called the same, so just overwrite the old ones.
