Thread: Where is that TUG boat going? | Forums

Has anybody ever taken the time to shadow a tug boat to see if it leads you to a nice juicy 'stationary' target? -

If nobody else has taken the time to try, I will give it a shot in my next patrol, just to see if the Tug may have a special value.

This sounds like a worthwhile idea --let us know.

I wonders one thing: what are those trwaler doing in the mid-Atlantic?
Also, is the showing up of the ships random? I have seen a British ship sailing in the Bay of Biscay around St. Nazaire!

Followed a tug for nearly 24 hours... I was rewarded by a small freighter, dead in the water. The type of ship is probably random.

This was the only time I spent the time following one so I can't say for sure that there will always be something at the end. - It was kind of fun (the anticipation you know) but time consuming as well and unless there is a bigger payoff... not really worth the effort.

Makes me wonder if you were to damage a ship enough to have it dead in the water, could you wait for a tug boat to come out and repair it and then get two kills instead of just one.

In my last patrol I was in grid AM52 when I came across a tug boat leaving England heading out ot sea. It made me wonder why she was heading out so far. I should have followed her, just to see where she took me. Oh well, maybe next time.

I recently encountered a Tug Boat after sinking the ship it was going after, a V&W Destroyer.

I could not for the life of me figure out why the Destroyer was stationary, but I sank it and moved on, only to encounter the Tug a few km later. Oddly enough I did not put two and two together until I read this thread.

So it would seem Tugs definitely lead to disabled ships.
