same issue here, the game is unplayable, makes my head hurt, not buying anymore ubi products til they fix it

I have no idea why the MODS decided to close a large, 5 page thread who's original post much more eloquently defined the problem, and instead delegated us to this one with a giant spelling mistake in the title.
Anyway, on point:
The camera issue is a big deal. Surely Ubisoft should have invested the (assumingly short) amount of time it would take to refine the camera options. I love this game, but it's become cumbersome for me to play--partially ruining the experience.
Please patch this. A quick change can shape how us gamers experience this 15-20+ hour game.
Ironically enough, one of the forum manager's signature states: Patience is not a virtue, it is a waste of time. Let's hope the actual developers aren't as cynical as their forum staff.

I cant play the game at all because of the issue.
And I agree with the poster who said "We're working on a fix" means they are fixing the problem, not investigating if it can be fixed or not. Cause if it can't, you're programmers are incompetent. Just add a second menu option for invert X.

As the Forum Manager has stated continue to report the problem to Ubisoft Technical Support.
As for closing the other thread - that was partly due to the Forum Manager replying in this thread, and not in that one.
I shall reopen the other thread as well.
As for the quote - my view, and not Ubisoft's view.

I have the same issue. I was surprised that there was no option for inverted Y-axis only but I tried to take on the game anyway. I just couldn't. It's like you try to force a lefty to write with the right hand. If you force them enough they are able to write but they won't write fast and they won't write readable.

Exactly. Others may have said it before, but you are the latest to use that decent analogy. Yeah, some people might think we're "babies" and "crying about nothing." Some of them might be ambidextrous, but most of them would not want to have to write, eat, and play guitar with the opposite hand from what they naturally use. And most of them would be whining about BG&E if the only option were the inverted camera controls.
The lack of separate X and Y controls makes the game unplayable, at least in the sense that it is absolutely no fun and not worth my time. I rented "Silent Hill: Homecoming" and immediately sent it back for pretty much the same reason. I never finished the Myst game that had the moving camera for the same reason. I could get used to it if my life depended on it, but I'm not going to waste my leisure time struggling with it. It is such a simple thing to program; there is no reason to exclude the option.

I still cant play the game.
The patch should literally take minutes to program, there is no excuse for it taking this long
-
So they fixed the exact same issue in another game because of the attention the media gave, but apparently we dont matter cause we havent annoyed them enough. I've tried to message a bunch of gaming sites, and site advertising the sale for BG&E I've warned everyone about the game-breaking issue. But we need to raise a bigger stink.
This is god damned ridiculous. The bug would literally take 5 minutes to program to fix yet they've done nothing over 6 months. The money they've spent paying people to tell us they're "investigating" could have been better spent actually working on it.

What game are you talking about here?

Ubisoft's Technical Support seems like it's completely different company. The communication between them and the developers is non-existant. Most technical support departments are bad, but Ubisoft's is really is in a league of its own. Contacting them is a pointless waste of time. The only way to get things done is to get it in the gaming media. Since BG&E has little to no fanbase left, this issue didn't get any attention so you can forget about Ubisoft releasing a patch for it.
