So I'm trying to play and each time I boot the game I get a black screen and nothing else. It can go on for as long as I want it to, and I hear no sound at all either.
When I quit the "game", I get a message saying the display driver crashed and has just recovered.
My specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
4GB RAM
ATI HD 6950, 2GB VRAM
Integrated sound
Running Windows Vista Ultimate, 64bit
I have the latest drivers (Catalyst 11.9), so updating them is out of the question. Any ideas why this is?

wow... ur specs are better than mine yet u encountered problems... I doubt it is the driver... it could be something else. check and see if any background application is doing something funny...

try updating the game with the gu in program files,ubisoft,mmh6,gu...maybe it never updated...your pc rocks..mine is a notebook asus g72gx with a onboard nvidia 260m on it and 6gb of crap ram probably...runs it on low settings but it runs

Aaaand it is updating, strange. It should've auto updated when UPlay loaded :s Hope this works though!

Mine's doing the same thing. It is updated, but nothing.
Seems like the error patching the game is because it's a Steam version. Doesn't explain why it won't work though.
I bought mine from GameStop. I downloaded it successfully, but when I clicked Play! from the UPlay, the game just goes black and then the a tiny screen shows with the angel and a pit lord. My mouse does the loading action, then nothing. It just stays like that.
Go to the tech support area there's a 4 page thread with a lot of other people having the same issue. Its a game code issue, its causing numerous different cards to crash on start up
