Thread: Vegas 2 Password Coop Story Mode | Forums

  1. #1
I saw some servers out there that had a password for the coop story mode. Thought this wasn't possible. How do you do this. Seems like everytime I'm waiting for my friend to join a game, someone else joins instead. Would be great to be able to password protect the coop story like you can do with terrorist hunt.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I never found a way to password Story mode.

You can password Versus and T-Hunt under the advanced tab, but I found no such option for Story.
Maybe someone has found a way to alter files to allow for it.

I have a TeamSpeak server and when I played this game, a friend or relative would be on TS with me.
We would both have our games running in Story mode, and I would let them know when I was going to launch the Story server, and they would jump in as soon as it loaded.

Sorry, I don't have a better answer for you!

There are very few gamers left in this forum so the odds of someone who knows the answer to your question are slim to none!!

I am very curious to know the answear myself. After reading the post by UHF-Gaterbait I logged on to Vegas Story Mode and seen several Host with locks on their games. I looked at everything I could think of and couldn't find a way to do it. Like Lethal said not many true gamers come here any longer, but if someone does know how to lock game please respond to this post.

I think I stumbled across the way to password coop story mode. I believe I did it when edited the following ini file:
Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\Config\KellerServerOptions.ini I added a password to the lines
    m_fstrGamePassword=
    and
    m_fstrJoinPassword=

When some of my friends went to join, it asked for a password. Not sure why they didn't just add it to the game setup. Might want to give it a try.

Now I am completly confused, are you the Gator or the Gator's Bait?....lol. Well nice to see you did the grunt work and found a way to password your story mode. If you want more friends to join you on the mission you can find everything you need here.

It is some work but it allows you 16 players both in Story and TH Modes. Just thought I would pass it on for you to check out. Nice that you came here with your question and answear rather than taking the easy way out and contacting UBI'S Primo Tech Support. I am still waiting for a question to be answeared I asked three years ago. Tech Support must really want to be sure it is right before they give you the requested imformation. But I am glad things worked out for you,and keep on gaming.

    Thanks for the link.

Been using the technogods program for a few weeks and it works great. Now more than 2 of us can do story mode and because its password protected, we can get through it at our own pace without others joining in and running ahead.

R6 Vegas 2 is a good game but I wish they had released the sdk so that others could create additional maps for this game.

    I can't imagine 16 players in co-op mode for story or T-Hunt.
Most of the maps are way to small and everyone would be getting in each others way.

You should turn on friendly fire .. that would really make it interesting!!!

    Lethal,

Friends and I play TH on a sixteen person server almost daily. I play with two host (one with FF on,one with it off). We usally have 7-10 players on server and like you said it can be quite hectic but fun as hell. The server with FF on is limited to friends that have been playing together for quite some time so we antisapate each others move quite well. Give me ashout one day and come and try us out. You won't be disapoited with the game we play. BTW you still have to deal with pore net-code and the crashs that happen on occasion. =)

Hi guys, I'm also interested in hosting private coop.

"I think I stumbled across the way to password coop story mode. I believe I did it when edited the following ini file:
Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\Config\KellerServerOptions.ini I added a password to the lines
    m_fstrGamePassword=
    and
    m_fstrJoinPassword="

Do you have to manually add the lines in the ini file, or do you only have to add the passwords?

Only thing I see is "Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\Config\PCKellerServerOptions.ini".

In there, I only see "m_fstrSessionPassword=", not :

    m_fstrGamePassword=
    and
    m_fstrJoinPassword=

    Thanks in advance.
