    Hi guys,

Just got my TrackIR3 pro last night, fired it up for a quick play and found that I was getting increasing video corruption each time I launched a new mission (basically triangles and artifacting on clouds, landscapes etc). I've got a ATI 9700 pro and happily run on perfect. Cat 4.12 drivers). Mucked about with custom and default card settings - no impact (better or worse) but then tried changing to Direct x on a whim - no problems at all.

Unfortunately at work so can't post any diagnostics but at this stage just interested as to whether this is a known issue or not?

    Cheers

    Bud

That's not likely due to the TrackIR, but let us know what you find.

Ok - didn't really think it would be but never seen it before and been playing everyday for over a year now. Something hase happened since I plugged the Trtack IR in...it doesn't happen if I go in with the track IR switched off. Anyway, Will have another investigate tonight and see if I can narrow it down...

Ok - quick update - tried it extensively last night and no problems Dunno what caused it - cosmic ray maybe... Anyway, now a happy badger watching my kill over my shoulder as I power into the ground - oops!

Sorry to have wasted your time.

If you have had any form of graphics distortion that appears - and even if it dissapears - please take the time to take the side off the computer and have a look if the main and graphics card fans are running - and not gummed up with fluff.

Also check that while installing Track IR you havent moved the computer, dropped a rag - or in anyway restricted airflow.

5 minutes to check it out could save you an expensive repair bill.

Recently - I had opened up one of my servers to swap some memory and discovered the main fan was off due to a loose connection and the graphics card fan was dead. Fortunately I stumbled across this before the components cooked themselves.

Thanks for the heads up Stenka,

Generally I'm pretty diligent about that, being old enough to to remember ZX80 computers, never mind PC's, but I have to admit there were a few dust bunnies kicking around and I had hoovered in-between attempt. The pc box is on the floor so could have been the cause...

Anyway - thanks again for the suggestion.

I have a 9700 pro and TrackIR 3 pro and dont have any problems. I cant run in perfect without slight stutters if it gets busy, lots of planes, etc. 4.12's also.
