Have any of you heard of TouchBuddy? It's a program that runs on a TouchScreen (or any screen for that matter) and sends keystroke commands to other programs like IL2/PF or Lockon, or whatever via a graphical user interface.

You can run TouchBuddy on just your local computer and it works fine with most games. But there is a problem with IL2/PF. This game captures and controls the entire screen and will *not* let your Mouse Cursor leave your primary display. So, you cannot touch or click on your touchscreen.

It would be nice if Oleg would fix this. There may be a reason they are doing this, but most other games don't do this, and it is not a problem. However, if you have a second computer, you can run TouchBuddy in Client/Server mode, allowing you to use your touchscreen on a different computer. Thus, the mouse capture problem does not stop TB from working for you. In client server mode you run TB on both computers, and only open the profile up on the second computer. You can then use the second computer to touch or click the screen, and it sends the keystrokes to your game computer to TouchBuddy and then it sends the keystrokes to your game running on that computer.

Hope you all find this new tool useful. I got my 8" Innovatek TM-868 Touch Screen on eBay for about $160 shipped to my door. If you are a good graphical artist we could sure use your talents to create some nice Game Interfaces!

A really GREAT idea that zorlac came up with!

For me Touch Buddy is the best flightsim improvement since TRACKIR.

Thanks to Wild.Bill.Kelso who made this cool Tool for Touch Buddy to create own profiles for games with cool buttons etc.

FYI:

Kind of a late posting, but TouchBuddy has released a new version 1.3.0 at the first of this year, which has several new features that are very cool.

Also, I have released version 1 of an IL2 Profile. Soon version 2 will be available with many more IL2 commands.
