How do I either reduce the radio subtitle lines, as I have in IL2:46 config file, to 2 lines, and reduce the text size?

Or failing that how do I disable them completely (I'd prefer the reduction option as I do not speak German).

Apologies if this has already been covered but I have done many searches and found nothing

I must be a masochist as I just can't bring myself to give up on CloD despite its myriad of faults.

Try Alt+Left mouseclick on the subtitles, then right click. They should then be banished.

I hate them. All that effort for realism, and they give you HUD gobbledy-****. Now that's a dirty word.So is crevice...

    Alt+left click then right click,
click on 'customize window' then you can re-size/move to your hearts content

Thanks guys, it's been driving me daft! (some say that's a very short journey! )

"Gobbledy-****"! I like that word, make a note of it Darling, I intend to use it more often in conversation.

By the way Kris, where are your Spitfire skins? They look the business.

The lack of documentation regarding these HUD windows is a little annoying, but it it is mostly intuitive enough once you realise how to get at them. A tip: if you want to resize or move, a window, you have to turn the border on - you can turn it off again when done.

The on-screen 'throttle' is a HUD window too - you can move, resize or delete this one as you like.

Even in IL2_1946 disabling all the rubbish on screen is an effort.

I always fly without any on screen text and no icons and I would dearly love it if games let you set a single key to turn off all the onscreen clutter we seem to get stuck with.
