Cant finish patrol at pearl harbour | Forums

After my successful 1st patrol after 1.2 patch i ventured out on my second patrol and after patroling the singapore sea i decided to untake a unodir mission seeing as manila had fallen.

So i sailed north through the luzon strait and headed for japan for some rich pickings.

The first 2 harbours i sailed into were empty so i sailed further north and the fourth harbour i tried had ships in it. So i sank 2 without trouble and took out 2 gunboats that came a hunting the third boat refused to sink even though i had 4 torpedo shots around the smokestack area (a fifth missed and exploded into the harbourside which i thought was funny).

So i am all out of fish and decided to make a run for it before the japs decide to make sushi out of my sub.

I schlepped my sub and crew all the way to pearl to end the patrol only to be told you can only refit here.

With Java going to fall soon i thought i was being prudent and now it seems i got to go all the way to Java (which probably by the time i get there will have fallen) and then have to make my way make to pearl.

Why wont pearl let me dock????

If you original base was Manila or Java then your home port should now be Fremantle.

Check your operational messages, if I remember correctly, I got one that said something like "due to constant air attacks in Manilla, switch base to Java".

If that base falls before you get there, it's next stop Fremantle.

For me the problem is that when I went in patrol, my base got captured, so now I don't know where I must go... ? I was docking at Manila, and in January 1942 the Japanese took it. I tried to dock at Freemantle but they don't let me dock... What can I do ?

Hello Xomega,
Your home port has been changed to Surabaya in Java. You should have been sent a radio message about this change. If you scroll back and look at your radio messages you will probably see it. In the near future you will be transferred again.
If you are not patch to 1.4 you should do this to.
Your home port is shown on the map with a tilted anchor icon. The straight up and down anchor icon is where you may go to refit and minor repairs only.

I had this problem yesterday (1.5 w/ TMO 1.5.2), except I was stationed out of Pearl Harbor. The whole objective of my patrol was to patrol around Kiska, Alaska. Once I was done with that, I was to refuel at Dutch Harbor. I did both of these, then went back to Pearl Harbor. It wouldnt let me dock. So, since one of my objectives was to refuel at Dutch Harbor, I thought maybe that become my home port, so I trekked back up there. Nope, that wasnt it. I decided to try Midway. Yep, I had been transferred to Midway.
