I hoping this sound will happen in the game when the clip is discharged once all eight rounds have been fired.
    Does anyone know.
If already discussed im sorry...i looked bout couldnt find the answer...and my computer dosent have speakers...so i cant hear in the video clips.
2nd Lt. George Rice: Looks like you guys are going to be surrounded.

Richard Winters: We're paratroopers, Lieutenant, we're supposed to be surrounded.

In one of the movies at IGN you can see a soldier fire all his garand rounds and the distinct "ping" is there.

I dont think its possible to work on a game for so long and not include it. Its part of the weapon really. My father told me when on a patrol one guy would keep some of his ammo loaded so when the Germans advanced on the sound of the ping they wouldnt be sitting ducks.

when you fire a garand you cant really hear the ping as clearly as youd think. the sound from the last bullet over powers it.

Ive shot a ww2 garand and yes, you cant miss the ping.
Its included in the game Hidden & dangerous.
If youre a good shot you can catch the clip in the air as it discharges hehe

Hehe. Wow, lucky dude. You've shot one of the guns we all only get to fire a virtual one of. Whats it like? I see the Devs shot them and theres a bit of power behind it - they guy says it would give you a sore shoulder.

I posted this in a different discussion.

If this is depicting authentic WW2 combat, then you would most definatley NOT hear the ping. The noise of your own M-1 shooting as well as the noise of the battlefield around you would drown it out. The stories of germans or japanese waiting for the ping and the rushing in the bayonet the G.I. are nothing but myths. Here's two discussions on the topic, one by a WW2 Airborne Vet: http://p198.ezboard.com/ftriggertime....topic&index=2
