I know this game is confirmed for the PC (thank god), but how come there has been no news about the PC version at all besides a confirmation that it's coming at the of each interview.

We can all admit, Splinter Cell Double Agent was not the best PC port...in fact I would go on a limb and call it one of the worst PC ports ever. It was delayed, extremely buggy, had lowered graphics and did not recieve any support whatsoever, and I feel Conviction will suffer the same fate. Another question I have is they recently said their is no PS3 interview because an exclusive game allows to make the best possible game on a platform, so then why is there a PC version too?

So can Ubisoft just gives us PC gamers some reassurance that they have learned from their past mistakes and WILL NOT pull another Double Agent again.

I think we can take the whole reencarnation of SCC itself, as an assurance that they are in-fact listening, to what extend, remains to be seen!

Double Agent was a big mistake in many ways. Most of the mistakes were made by the Shanghai team. Perhaps they didn't have enough time to properly port it or they just didn't care. Either way, you shouldn't worry about it now. The Montreal team is working on SSC and their track record for PC games is good. The PC version of CT surpasses the Xbox version in almost every way. Also, SC for the PC added the ability to save anywhere. I don't think they are going to do a straight port. I wouldn't be surprised if the PC version had a few options the Xbox doesn't.

Did Montreal also make Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 for PC which were also less than stellar ports?

Not as yet, but they will be made known as soon as they are hammered out. Conviction is being made on various set ups currently.

Well, I hope there's a demo. I know it'll run fine on my 360, but I prefer shooters on my PC. My machine is 2 years old now . .. and I'm not really in the situation where I can afford to upgrade it.
