This will make the path of the wraith MUCH MUCH easier. Before you return to the throne room and get the wraith mask, get the ninth upgrade. This allows you to play through the final levels of the game with the Water Sword. This is especially helpful for first time gamers since it allows them to kill enemies faster. It also lets you enjoy the Water Sword on more than just the Dahaka (Which was a pretty boring battle if you ask me. I had more fun on the Grunt)Want a teaser? Let's just say it kills a Grunt in three strokes! Don't believe me? Try it for yourself.
WARNING: I did this on the Nintendo Gamecube and had no problems. I have no idea if this will cause problems or more of the ever present bugs on other systems. I only have a GC so I haven't tested this on the models made for Playstation ,X-Box, or PC. To be safe, have a save file prior to getting the water sword. Proceed at your own risk. Don't come yacking back at me if your game crashes or your system explodes because of this.

That's a good one... Never thought of that, it's a nice one to try!

Heh, I didn't even think it was possible to get it after you'd been the wraith. I got it before I became the wraith every single time..

The only life upgrade I can not yet revisit in the event that I missed it the first time is number 4 in the Garden Hall Waterworks Tower (Past) with the break in the fence in the garden with a weight platform in the middle.
After defeating the Empress for the first time, I am not yet able to return to that location.
I can get all the other eight life upgrades before or after being the SandWraith.

I'm pretty sure you can get that one. Is it the one where you climb the trees and kill the crowman? Or the one with all the turning water pumps?
You cannot get out of the sacraficial chamber after you've been the wraith.
It's also possible through the game without ever attaining the Lion sword. Just go to the garden tower first. But it kinda sucks cause you have to wait until you get the scorpion sword.

Map Location: The Water Maiden Garden Hall (Past)
The way to "Life Upgrade #4" is from the "second floor" ladder, wall run right to a rope to jump left onto a platform, wall run left, jump midway to a pole swinging over to the right into an open doorway.
The garden has a weight platform near the middle with trees, a CrowMaster on a ledge, a crate that you needed to move onto a floor switch, and an opening in the front left fence through which you access life upgrade #4.

Yeah I don't know if it'll work after you've been the wraith but this is how I got there: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=t...2&m=5051085362
Unless you're talking about the one back in the nook with the turn lever.

Huh?? I went to the Water Tower first and received the Lion Sword from Kaileena when I returned to Central Hall. This was before I ventured into the Mechanical Tower.
I do have one question about the Lion Sword: In the first fight with Kaileena/The Empress, she says that sword is cursed. What did she mean by that?? When I went through the Mechanical Tower, I didn't have any trouble with the enemies in that area. Just wondering.
Later!

Maybe my game was messed. Not unlikely. All I know is that I had to fight the empress with the serpent sword. By "cursed" she probably means she put a hex on it to increase the chances of the Prince dying.

I actually didn't get the serpent sword the 1st time i played it, but i still activated the towers...it made the enemies tough as hell to fight though.
