from what i recall, the codes in the game are always randomized. saving the code doesn't make a lick of difference. or am i wrong?

Yep, your right, once the boots are gone, so does the related data that is stored on your memory card/hard drive making it impossible to work even though you might be inputting valid codes.

well, that sure... but i mean the actual code changes. in all the times i've played, the codes in the game are always different for each door, locker, etc. for each play-through.

    Codes worked without having boots

I too forgot to get the boots at the Factory ....I really didn't want to play the game over, so I tried the codes that were provided in this thread. I am playing on my PS3, and one of the code sets worked without me having Pey'j boots in my possession.

The codes that worked for me are: L7C8 (for the console near the bedroom) and F4J7 (for the console in the hanger).

So, I'd advise that if you don't have the boots.. that you still go to the consoles and try out some of these codes listed in this thread... I've verified that you don't need to have the boots to get the codes to work!
