A group of us old FC players recently rented a Far Cry server from a major server company. For some reason, they have been completely unable to get it to show up on the server list. They have installed the correct version we requested, 1.4, and after a week of waiting for the Far Cry server we paid for, still nothing. I was just curious if perhaps they may need to be doing something that they are not? We noticed when we tried to create a server from in the game like we used to do, it no longer works. There are still several Far Cry servers out there so what are they doing that we or the server company we hired doing wrong? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Maybe they are not trusted company, normally most server providers have a good tools and easy control panel.

Look at your server config, maybe something is wrong try with simple config.

These days most server providers have a hard time getting this game to work online.

The 1.4 server package that comes with a fresh install and 1.4 patch DOES NOT WORK. Most server providers will install that vanilla package and it wont work and they wont know why.

There is a modified "working" 1.4 server package floating around out in cyberspace but it will be hard to find these days. If you can find it, you will need to have your server provider install that server package in place of the vanilla one... in its entirety.

Another option would be to find out which server providers are successfully running FARCRY servers and use them. Even then you will most likely have to have them copy that working clients file package in its entirety and start you with that config. Then you could customize it from there.
