Thread: Ubi: how to address quiting problem | Forums

this is getting rediculus 90% of all euros i play will quit when it is obvious they are about to lose, as such i suggest the following:

1)if a player quits the battle person who did not quit still gets promotions, exp, and cr but all perma-deathed units are restored

    2) all units that the losser deployed during the battle loss one rank, and he gets not promotions ex, cr, and still losses his permadeathed units.

i know many are going to say this is unfair and that is the point, if quitting does not affect the status of the war then it should be made as unappealing as possible.

That is way too unfair because have you ever thought that it is actually possible that you can lose connection?

D/C should mean a loss, thats the simple and most reasonable way of doing it.

    Morag,

i have yet to quit in match (95% of my games are 2v2). Thats why my record shows 80 wins and 76 losses.

That said, I have had at least 5 games where the xbox froze (is that from opponent disconnect?)and 2 that said my ethernet connection was disconnected and logged me out of xbxox live (anyone else ever get this?).

There was ,not sure if there is currently, no way to leave the lobby prior to match start if you found you for whatever reason didn't want to play your opponent. There is no excuse for quitting in match just because you are loosing. that sjust plain poor sportsmanship. Why do it? i suspect they don't want a loss on their precious record. Silly if you ask me but i don't think there should be anything done by UBI at this time.

i think if you chose to leave you lose every unit you have in the battel is killed because you left them behind on the batter feild

if you quit because of a DC your team still takes a loss just the same as if you lost the game

Did you not read the post above you? Sometimes one does not make the choice to leave but for whatever reason people experience disconnects.

Furthermore, in the real life world separated from the fantasy game world alot of us have real jobs and lives with real responsibilites. It sometimes forces those with children and hospital pagers to drop what they are doing and respond.

many of you are worried about DC but i am refuring to pausing the game and then hitting the quitgame button, this only takes affect if you hit that botton.

and no i did not know it was fixed but even so it still irritates me to no end.

You have to treat a DC the same as a legitimate quit, otherwise people will just disconnect their network to avoid any repercussions from quitting normally.

I personally believe that DCs are just as punishable. It's just as annoying for the opposition/team mate.

Sort your network, change your ISP or pick your moments - if you need to leave because of children/work/whatever that's your problem. As is popular to say on these boards: suck it up. Your opponent doesn't care that you quit because your baby is screaming - they still have to go find another game. And your teammate doesn't care that you quit because you want to preserve your record or you have a rubbish ISP - they still get stuck with an AI commander.

Bad connections are just as annoying to other players as people who just quit. If punishing DCs encourages people to work out how to make their connection more stable then the community as a whole benefits.
