Download and install Irfanview (freeware)! It handles most image file formats.

I use Xnview, it was refered to me several years ago. Its an editor as well as a viewer for allmost all image types, but more importantly you can edit and adjust in photo-shop like complexity those images*, and most importantly you can convert an infinant amount of files into another type.

For instance the TGA's into Jpeg's which while you will need to make sure the image options for JPeg conversion is lossless (options of course), will shrink the file size down to a few hundred kilobytes an image, rather than 3 or 4 megabytes.

There are identity options with this that you can sort out before hand and you can choose to deleate the original as par the conversion process or replace them in the same folder, or just simply duplicate them and still keep the original, you can rename them and there is something of a smart rename option that if use right will keep you from over writing something if another file is similarly named but isnt that which you are converting.

As well you can mass apply any touch up options that you can apply to a single image one at a time in this conversion, so say you can tone all of them for bronze or sharpen the contrast, whatever, its pretty cool concidering how its nice to be able to have the ability to edit images for size with out the issues of going through paint, and you dont have to do each one, one at a time.

    here are some links...

For Windows 95 through Vista, this page lists your options with several languages (including French, as this is a French program, German, and English)

Xnview 1.91.1 standard and several other set ups + additional prgrams and plugins

For the main download page which has links for the options available for Windows 3.(x) computers, if they exist lol, and array of independent operating systems like Linux or Solaris as well as Apple's conglomerate OS of we-wana-be-evil-rapist-scum-too-Microsoft-just-look-what-we-did-with-video-editing-and-ipods.

Xnview operating system hub for download options avaliable as to each specific system

*(save dds, but then again I havent updated in years so that may also be taken care of)
