Today, Ubisoft is pleased to share with you that From Dust™ on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft has broken record digital sales for Ubisoft after launching worldwide on July 27, 2011.

The game had the highest first day sales of any Xbox LIVE Arcade game that Ubisoft has ever released with sales approximately 45 percent higher than Ubisoft’s previous best-selling XBLA release.

The pre-orders for From Dust on Windows PC are also tracking very well with a significant number of orders on UbiShop and via other digital channels. From Dust on Windows PC is slated to release on August 17, 2011 and From Dust on the PlayStation Network will be available soon.

An award-winning god game from creator Eric Chahi and Ubisoft Montpellier, From Dust puts players in control of The Breath, a mysterious power used by a primitive tribe to battle against the forces of nature.

As players venture through different territories, they must protect villagers from natural disasters, like tsunamis and volcanoes, in order to gain the knowledge of the tribe’s ancestors. Along with the main campaign, an additional Challenge mode tasks players with using their god-like powers in creative ways to ensure the safety of the inhabitants.

“From Dust is another great example of Ubisoft’s on-going commitment to bring original intellectual properties and brands to the digital space,” said Chris Early, vice president of digital publishing, Ubisoft .“Ubisoft is a creative company dedicated to delivering innovative and engaging content for all types of players – whether it’s a big retail game or a short format digital title such as From Dust.”

Congrats but... so did Duke Nukem, also another shocking port.

Seriously, tell the devs to give us an option to tweak the graphics or give us a refund.

52,000+ views in the 'From Dust (problems section) over on Steam forums.

And for the record, 'Another World' was a classic game for me, what a shame the PC port for this game has let it down badly.

    I feel robbed and cheated.

I've been a PC gamer since I was 8, and I dare say in all seriousness, that I have never been cheated by a game so much.

Yes, it is my fault for buying a game based on a trailer... But I almost cried when I thought that From Dust will bring back the days of the incredible Populous series.

The game is the worst port I have ever encountered. FPS cap at 30... no graphics settings.. terrible controls.. always-on DRM... etc, etc.

I dare say that I will never, ever buy another Ubisoft game, unless there's absolutely no other choice. I will always try other, less official ways of getting your games.

You fooled me once Ubisoft.. But you'll never fool me again. Enjoy my $15, you will never, ever get a single cent from me, no matter what.

If Steam would refund and remove this game from my account, I'd be eternally grateful for being on my side. Otherwise, I'll take it like a man, and learn my lesson about companies like Ubisoft.
