First they make people who own two computers buy two copies of the game, and even with them the CD key is not always recognized online. Then Ubi Soft won't allow their game to be on gamespy. Soon they will have us paying for patches!

*sign* what proof do you have of that? Show me the history of Ubi releasing patchs only in addon form. I see a history of releasing free patches that add all the improvements of the addons except the new weapons and maps.

As for the orgininal poster, that is common software makers pratice. You have 2 computers right? You had to buy your OS twice didn't you? (if you didn't then you are breaking the law, just like Ubi and M$ are trying to prevent with copy protection)

dayglow this is nonsense, you can register xp on 2 computers, multiple computers as long as they are in one property (you just ring microsoft and they will register them)

so wtf should a 120 pound operating system be different from a 30 pound badly supported beta game like rvs.

I don't have proof of much Dayglow, but it seems to me that UBI has a history of releasing games that are still Betas or maybe Alphas that need more testing. They have a history of poor customer service, releasing patches that cause as many problems as they fix, and of using the PC community to fund their forays into the console industry.

Have you noticed the shrinking number of players out there? That's an indicatioin, if anything is, that UBI is failing to take care of its customers properly.

It's not nonsense. Msft has a vested interest in making their name and their Operating Systems thoroughly ubiquitous. They make their money from the OEMs, not the individual consumers. Game developers, on the other hand, are wholly dependent on the individual consumers and far more often than not require one license per computer.
